Apple picking

If you ever want to avoid the crowds at the apple orchard, go the day AFTER Halloween. We didn't really plan to do it that way - only our fall was so busy with birthdays, marathon, karate, and soccer that we didn't get a chance to go until the day after. We had an awesome time - the weather was perfect, crisp and comfortable. The orchard itself was empty and there were so few people at the haunted house, pumpkin bouncer, corn maze, and most importantly the cider mill that we never had to wait in line.

While picking apples, Jeff and the boys found a pole and discovered a fun new game - throw the apples on the ground at the poll as hard as possible to see if you could 1) hit the pole and 2) smash the apple. It was pretty humorous, but you had to make sure you weren't standing in the wrong place when Ben and Dylan were throwing!

Next year we might have to go after Halloween again!

Trying to recreate a childhood pictures of my sisters and I. We weren't running and back then we picked apples in laundry baskets.

These are such great photos! I really wanted to go to an apple orchard this fall, but we didn't make it. :( Wish we would have gone in November like you did. Great idea to go after Halloween! I don't like crowds.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one behind on blogging (hint, hint). Great photos of apple picking. They certainly did look like they were having a great time. Your picture clarity is so crisp and clear, I love it. Tell me what your camera is. P.S. E is not responding to any of these meds very well; we're certainly in a regression pattern and it's very sad and hard. She definitely seems like she's maturing, but with that, she's become more quiet and less social. Ava's doing great and wants everything for Christmas! She's figured out that Eliza doesn't play or act interested in any toy, so she's starting to tell me things "Eliza" would like for Christmas too (knowing that she's going to stake claim after Eliza opens the present and isn't interested...) LOL.
